About Fort Worth, Texas

The home of Acme Brick and Radio Shack, Fort Worth is part of the Metroplex, three cities that form a “huge-O-plex” of roughly six million people in eastern Texas. Situated on the old Chisholm Trail, the town has always seen action. (Just ask a native about the Acre.) Today, though, the safer Sundance Square is entertainment central. The Fort Worth Water Gardens, widely seen in the film Logan’s Run, was designed by Philip Johnson. Fans of Van Cliburn, the American who won the first International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in the Soviet Union in 1958, know he is a resident of a Fort Worth suburb.
